Micah Lidberg for Lacoste

I’ve known of Micah’s work for a long time, his energetic illustrations combine both incredible detail and line-work with soft pastel colours often to form very large pieces of work. It’s great to see him able to work with a brand that also loves his work and produce some brilliant items with his designs.

Lacoste L!VE collaborated with him on a collection of Polos, T-shirts and Totes that make use of his wild style. My favourite has to be his water pattern, this piece encapsulates Micah’s style completely – well thought-out composition, playful colours and the meticulous line-work of the waves that make up the whole illustration. When viewing his work you need to remind yourself that it was created by hand, Lidberg hand-draws his pieces fully and colours digitally, it takes quite a brain to be able to design this within your head and produce it through your hand straight to paper.
