The Mast Brothers

NYC chocolatiers The Mast Brothers opened up a South Street Seaport location, October 5th. They have teamed up with designers Evan and Oliver Haslegrave of www.home-nyc.com (another pair of bearded Brooklyn brothers) and created a great new space in a nineteenth-century metal warehouse, three blocks down from the east river.

Inside you will find chocolate, books, pastries and an event space. There is also a kitchen area, which can accommodate pretty much anything from chocolate making to weddings. 215 Water Street, open every day 12-6PM

The young brothers have always shown a great dedication to their craft. From small family farms all over the world they find their cacao and ship the beans to their chocolate factory in Brooklyn. Here everything is made from scratch, all beans are by hand divided into groups, depending on their size, to get the perfect roast. No extra butters, oils, soy, emulsifiers or preservatives. It's the simplicity of quality beans and sugar which is the key to great taste. In the end each chocolate bar got its own story of flavors.
